A little pricey but well worth it. Genn is totally amazing and awesome. The salon is nice and so very clean. Everyone is very friendly but very professional. She did a free consultation weeks prior to actually doing my hair.

This amazing salon is tucked into a little strip mall, but it's the best one in Sonoma County! Everyone at this salon is talented, but I've been going to Kara for YEARS. She does an amazing job--a perfectionist when it comes to her clients hair. I always get compliments on my hair and have been able to refer clients to her by having complete strangers approach me and ask where I get my hair done! She's that good!! Thank you Kara for all of the wonderful years!! If you're looking for an incredible salon--go to SALON WEST!!

Ohhh myyyy ... I've a new "go-to" stylist and it's Genny at Salon West! What a pleasant experience from start to finish I had with her on my first appointment.

You need to know I don't have "problem" hair, but I am very particular about what I want from my stylist. I have come to expect NOT being "fully satisfied" given the numerous salons I've sought out over the years; this despite showing pictures, discussing preferences, and deliberating over choices and yet still being disappointed with the outcome. I've usually given stylists several opportunities to get it right, but it's typically been hit or miss with me leaving the salon feeling so-so about my hair and wanting to get home to "do it my way" and make it better. Well, it seems I won't be having those anxieties again...

Genny listened as I gave her the low down on all of my preferences, even on the extra rise I wanted. I had booked a partial highlight and cut, and I could tell from the deft way she used her comb to finely section my hair that this was an artist at work. I too am detail-minded, and I was impressed and immediately felt comfortable under her care, curious and hopeful for a good turn out. Our pleasant conversation made the time go by, and each step along the way while my highlights processed was carefully monitored, from chair to rinse bowl to chair again. My first look in the mirror (after my hair was perfectly rinsed) gave my heart a lift. I can always tell when the blond color is off but Genny had nailed it on the first go-round. Again I was impressed and continued to be, through her trimming, drying, and styling of my hair. I was very pleased indeed!

Haircare can be costly, but I won't be feeling like I wasted my money any longer, not now that I've FINALLY found my "go-to" girl in Genny.

I suggest you go ahead and book that appointment you are thinking about; you won't be disappointed, and I can't recommend her highly enough!

Helpful and affordable, helped me figure out what I wanted with my hair. Jasmine explained the perm process and walked me through what products to use, and was patient with me knowing next to nothing about hair.

I've been to plenty of salons (who hasn't?) and this little salon on the west side of SR is one of the best.
Kara is great (TJ, too, of course) and I've been coming to Salon West for several years now, so I can speak with authority. My hair is tricky...thick, kindof coarse and wavy/curly in odd places. When I leave SW, I always walk out with swingy, glossy, healthy-looking hair and I probably look just a little bit younger...well, maybe ;)
I've changed things up from time to time...super-long to shoulder length, blonde to brunette to blonde again, and I've always been satisfied. No regrets and plenty of compliments from friends and family.
This is not a high-overhead salon experience (Elle Lui, shame on you) but the look you'll walk out with will make you feel like a million bucks!

I love this place! Best place to get your hair done by knowledgeable professional hair stylists for a reasonable price. Always more than satisfied when i leave!
